Hi! My name is Lexi Spicci, and for my college journalism class I was tasked with creating a blog with the topic of my choosing. I decided that I would dedicate my blog to my roommates and I's "aquarium" as we like to call it! We have a total of 12 tanks, each with a different purpose or theme. We only have freshwater fish right now, as we are just starting out and saltwater maintenance can be tricky and expensive. However, we still house an estimate of 60 freshwater fish currently, spanning 21 species. We also have multiple fish that are pregnant! My other roommates names are Kate, Aaron, and Reed. Each of us own some of the tanks and fish, but for the most part the fish are all mixed together in various types of tanks that will be introduced in a later post. The aquarium is affectionately named after the street our house is on, and was started in early June of 2024. After only a few months, our aquarium has grown and evolved so much and continues to do so! This blog will document that journey as we learn more about caring for our fish, breeding, aquascaping, and more.
